Let’s talk Tall Tales!
One of the most infamous historical figures on display in the museum is Joe Fournier.  This lumberjack from Canada settled in Bay City.  He was taller and stronger than everybody else around him, and many looked at him as a legend.  He and other lumberjacks like him were talked about so much that the stories surrounding them became “tall tales” or exaggerations of real events.

In this activity, kids will create their tall tales by selecting a random item from a mystery box or choosing an item or image on display in the museum.  Kids are encouraged to be as silly as they wish when making up their tall tales.
